Hanslope Parish Plan 1

The Parish Plan process is a means by which the whole community can voice their opinions on what actions they wish to see taken in their local area in the future. When the plan is completed it may highlight actions that can be taken by community members, be used to influence councils and service providers, and act as justification of need when applying for funding.

Recreation Ground 1

The Recreation Ground Sports Club Committee meets on a bi-monthly basis and is responsible for maintaining and improving the facilities at the recreation ground. New 5-a-side goal posts, improvements to the changing rooms and installation of Basketball hoops have all been achieved in the last year.

The committee would welcome an additional member to represent the residents interested in Tennis.

Hanslope Parish Plan 2

It has been suggested that the Parish of Hanslope undertakes the production of a Parish Plan.
It is important that it encompasses everything that goes on in the Parish and that anyone associated with the Parish who wants to be is included - the more people who are involved the better. The driving force must come from as wide a spectrum as possible and it is important that everyone realises that it will be for the common good of the Parish.
There may well be financial advantages to groups in the Parish as a result and there
will be help (financial and otherwise) from Bucks Community Action. Of course it will not happen overnight (it is expected to take up to 18 months).
The idea will be expanded at the Open Meeting when it is hoped to have a representative from Milton Keynes Council in attendance. Please come along to hear more and to help arrange a specific meeting to move this matter forward.
Recreation Ground 2

Vandals strike again; this time they wrecked part of the fence along Castlethorpe Road near the pedestrian entrance causing a safety problem as well as an unnecessary cost to the local residents.
There are several litter bins in the recreation ground but some people seem unable to use them and throw their rubbish on the ground. Please help to keep the recreation ground clean and tidy;
PLEASE USE THE LITTER AND DOG FOULING BINS THAT ARE
PROVIDED
Bus Route 33

Initial reports are that the new service has settled down well and that the drivers are very helpful.

Hanslope Harrier

The Harrier service is due to run in its present form until January 2007.
Efforts are being made to investigate the possibility of a service continuing after that date.
Any queries regarding the Harrier or Service 33 can be addressed to Chris Jarman the Milton Keynes Council transport officer on 01908 691691.

Parish Council Open Meeting

This is to be held in the Village Hall on Monday 9th October at S.OOprn.The meeting is open to all Parish residents to keep up to date with what is going on and to bring forward any ideas or suggestions with which the Parish Council may be able to help. It is hoped that the local Thames Valley Police officer will be hi attendance.

Dog Fouling

Local residents have reported dog fouling in the High Street, near The Green and on the footpath around the church to the kissing gate. Please use a poop scoop or plastic bag and clear up after your animals.
Surgery Car Parking

A number of complaints have been received about parking around the surgery causing safety and traffic problems.
Why not help the situation and use the recreation ground car park while the current building work is in progress ?

Thames Valley Police

In an emergency dial 999.
To report non urgent crimes or incidents the Thames Valley Police phone number is 0845 8 505 505.
Thames Valley Police has purchased a Mobile Police Station which will visit the village about once a fortnight; the dates will be advertised on the Parish Council notice board next to the newsagents.

There will be an open meeting for the Rural Communities on Thursday 26th October at the Millennium Hall, Moulsoe Village. To commence at 8.15 pm
Surgery Car Parking

Please note that the recreation ground car park is available for use when visiting the surgery during the current building work.

Gold Street Lay By Extension

The lay by outside the newsagents hi Gold Street has recently been extended in order to assist with the short term parking requirements of customers of the local shops.

Local Plan

As previously reported, a development of 30+ houses is to be constructed on land adjacent to Cuckoo Hill Farm on Castlethorpe Road, including an element that has been negotiated for social housing.
It is anticipated that this development will commence early in 2007.
An open forum consultation meeting will be arranged as soon as plans are available.

The Old Bus Garage

The Parish Council has received a number of reports concerning the safety and security of this site in Gold Street. The matter is being progressed with Milton Keynes Council and the Police.
The Village Pond

Please drive carefully in this area as there are several ducks that have made their home in the village.
