Revised
Hanslope Harrier Service |
Over the past few months, Milton Keynes Council
have been working closely with the Parishes and MK Metro to try and
find a way of making the Hanslope Harrier service more customer focused
and at the same time more cost effective.
The main alterations are listed below.
A new timetable will be implemented on the 16th
April, which is attached.
This new timetable will give a better idea of where
and when the Hanslope Harrier is available and will also give the opportunity
for members to turn up at designated stops to board the HH without booking.
This was one of the main reasons given in the returned questionnaire
from members who don't use the Hanslope Harrier, and we are trying to
meet this unmet demand.
There is also now the introduction of an early morning
commuter run which has been provided at the request of parish members.
This arrives at Wolverton Station at 07.30 and 08.10, a return journey
at 18.49.
This timetable will be trialled for a period of
3 months and we will have to look at its performance to assess it in
early June.
The times shown on the timetable are likely to change
if there are bookings for doorstep pickups. The timing points at the
three villages are an indication of when it will arrive, but it is highly
unlikely that you will miss the bus as a result of it arriving earlier
than the time specified.
If you are wishing to make a return journey, once
you have boarded the Hanslope Harrier at one of the three villages,
then please just specify to the driver where and when and your request
should be accommodated.
Booking will now only be needed if you are concerned
that you will either not get a seat or if you need to be picked up from
your door.
The booking office will now be open between 9am
until 1pm and then 2pm until 5pm, Monday to Friday.
If bookings are required for Monday, then they will have to be made
on Friday. However, as there is the new option of turning up at a stop
to board it may mean that you don't need to book.
We are also removing the restriction on the 50%
discount, which will allow concessions all day and all evening for over
60's and students up to the age of 16.
We are planning new literature to advertise all
of this at the moment, but due to other commitments this will take approximately
2 weeks.
By agreeing the alterations above we hope that it
will prove more attractive to members and more financially viable as
a result, something that is of importance to us all as we approach the
end of the existing funding in January 2007.
If you have any further questions about this,
please don't hesitate to contact the Assistant Passenger Transport Officer
