At
Hanslope Hornets FC we aim to:
• Provide positive and enjoyable football for all children;
• Promote the principles of team participation and responsibility;
• Ensure that children learn to respect themselves, their
opponents and all other participants (coaches, officials, parents);
• Teach football skills in a safe, friendly environment;
• Encourage sportsmanship and fair play;
• Show all players how to win, how to lose, and how to do
both with dignity.
The
Club
The club was formed in 1996 and currently
run 6teams in 6 age groups ranging from Under 9 to Under 16. Our
players come mainly from Hanslope, Castlethorpe and the surrounding
villages. We are affiliated to the Berks and Bucks FA and we play
in various South Bucks and Milton Keynes leagues.
The
Season
The season normally starts at the beginning
of September and runs until April, although bad weather or a good
cup run can extend the season into May, when some of the teams
also like to participate in various local tournaments. All teams
normally train once per week, (with a break for Half term and
Christmas) and play matches most weeks between September and March.
The younger teams usually have matches on alternate weeks but
train every week.
